Improving Service User and Carer Feedback
Over the past few months, we have been supporting work in both community divisions to improve how they collect and utilise service user feedback.
In Islington, we held the Big Conversation in April, a face to face service user engagement event. It was an interactive and productive session in which service users, carers and representatives came together to discuss how to improve feedback processes.
In Camden, we have been running online QI workshops with staff and services users to explore how we could improve in this area.
Some of the key themes and ideas we have gathered include making sure we are asking the right questions and working with service users to design meaningful surveys. We also discussed ways we could embed opportunities to feedback into existing processes to make it as easy as possible. We also have lots of ideas from both staff and service users to improve response rates and encourage participation.
Our next steps are to start testing change ideas in pilot areas using a QI approach, and continuing regular opportunities for teams working on this to meet and share learning and progress.
If you are interested in improving this in your area, get in touch with your QI Advisor – Emma Scott (Camden Division) or Lara Odelusi (Islington Division)
